Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins Restored Town
The ruins of the castle town where the Asakura clan ruled Echizen for 100 years during the Warring States period, in the 15th and 16th centuries, and where the Asakura clan flourished for five generations, have been excavated and recreated in almost complete form, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the historical romance of the era.
Visitors can enter the restored samurai residences and townhouses to view exhibits and catch a glimpse of life in those days.
The ruins are designated as a national Special Historic Site and Special Place of Scenic Beauty, and the excavated items are designated as Important Cultural Properties, making the triple designation a rare and precious site in Japan.
The ruins are well cared for, and visitors can enjoy their beauty at any time. Various events are held every summer, including the " Wagasa Sky " installation spot.
