Volunteer Tour Guides Tsuruga
Volunteer Tour Guides Tsuruga was established in September 2011 through the integration of four volunteer tour guide groups active in Tsuruga.
From ancient times to the present, Tsuruga has been connected to the world through its port for trade, to various regions via highways, and to the rest of Japan by rail. Layers of history have accumulated over each era, creating a rich tapestry of attractions unique to Tsuruga, including two Japan Heritage sites related to its railway and port history.
Based at the Tsuruga Railway Museum in Kanegasaki-Ryokuchi Park, we guide visitors to these "Tsuruga Highlights." We also offer outreach lectures to various local groups.
On March 16, 2024, the Hokuriku Shinkansen finally opened in Tsuruga. We, the Volunteer Tour Guides of Tsuruga, are eager to share Tsuruga's charms with visitors.
