Echizen Soba Village

Learn about Soba Noodles and Even Make Your Own

Echizen Soba Village is a soba noodle factory and restaurant. Visitors can join lessons to learn how to make soba noodles made from buckwheat flour. The facility includes a shop that sells buckwheat products and various other local specialties.

Why not try a soba-noodle making experience in the birthplace of Echizen soba, where approximately 50,000 servings are made in one day?

Even first-timers can enjoy the experience with careful guidance using a monitor. Children are also welcome, so the whole family can enjoy the experience. Another attraction is that you can eat the freshly made soba right away.

Visitors can also observe the soba production process through a glass window and learn about the history of Echizen soba at the museum.

Takefu Seimen celebrates its 100th anniversary in January 2025. Even now, the traditional techniques of buckwheat noodle production are still being passed down by the hands of craftsmen.
